French

Name : Uray Ryan Hermawan (F1021131076)

Hi, it's me again. today, i want to give you some recomended food and drink from France. First, the dishes it is Clafoutis, is a baked French dessert of fruit, traditionally black cherries, arranged in a buttered dish and covered with a thick flan-like batter. The clafoutis is dusted with powdered sugar and served lukewarm, sometimes with cream.
A traditional Limousin clafoutis contains pits of the cherries. The pits contain amygdalin, the active chemical in almond extract, so during baking a small amount of amygdalin from the pits is released into the clafoutis, adding a complementary note to its flavor.

Looks like pizza isn't it? Don't eat it too much, it could make you fat hehehe. Now, let's move to the drink that you should try in France. Cafe au Lait

source : http://thegreengourmets.files.wordpress.com/2010/12/img_0851.jpg
Cafe au Lait is a French coffee drink. The meaning of the term differs between Europe and the United States; in both cases it means some kind of coffee with hot milk added, in contrast to white coffee, which is coffee with room temperature milk or other whitener added.

I think, it will be my favorite authentic French drink.  Being a coffee addict, it will be my beverage of choice to start every French day.  A bowl filled with an equal mixture of steaming hot coffee and frothy warmed milk create a mocha-colored beverage that warms both the heart and the fingertips. It marries best with a buttery, flaky croissant.

British

British, is something related to UK or the island of Great Britain. The people, language, not even the food. Now, i want to introduce you with one of British dishes it called Bangers and mash. It is a traditional British dish made of mashed potatoes and sausages, the latter of which may consist of a variety of flavoured sausage made of pork or beef or a Cumberland sausage. It is sometimes served with onion gravy, fried onions, baked beans and peas.
This dish may, even when cooked at home, be thought of as an example of pub grub—relatively quick and easy to make in large quantities. More up-market varieties, with exotic sausages and mashes, are sold in gastropubs, as well as less exotic alternatives being available in regular public houses. Even from the source said that food is tasty, but for me it is so disgusting. But, that's all back to you, want to taste it or not

Let's move to the Britain's beer, known as Bitter. Bitter is a broad term applied to a well-hopped pale ale, from about 3.5% to 7% in strength and pale gold to dark mahogany in colour. British brewers have several loose names for variations in beer strength, such as best bitter, special bitter, extra special bitter, and premium bitter. There is no agreed and defined difference between an ordinary and a best bitter other than one particular brewery's best bitter will usually be stronger than its ordinary. Two groups of drinkers may mark differently the point at which a best bitter then becomes a premium bitter. Hop levels will vary within each sub group, though there is a tendency for the hops in the session bitter group to be more noticeable. Bitter is dispensed in most formats — hand-pulled from the cask, on draught from the keg, smoothflow or bottled.

That's all for me from Great Britain. Chiao!

Japanese

And now reader, we would like to go to Japan or known as Nippon. The country which have many cultures and histories. The pronunciation Nippon is more formal, and is in Japanese used for most official purposes, including international sporting events.
Japan also known the country of Land of the Rising Sun. Japanese cuisine is known for its emphasis on seasonality of food quality of ingredients and presentation. Most of all program TV in Japan airing about food.
Because of the unique food from japan is too much, i would like give you an example the best one.

Food

Onigiri

Onigiri also known as o-musubi, nigirimeshi, or rice ball, is a Japanese food made from white rice formed into triangular or oval shapes and often wrapped in nori (seaweed).

 Source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Onigiri.jpg

The type of rice that used for making this onigiri is ordinary Japanese rice, or uruchima. When cooked it has a somewhat sticky texture such that it can easily be picked up and eaten with chopsticks. Outside of Japan it is sometimes labeled as sushi rice, as this is one of its common uses.
Traditionally, an onigiri is filled with pickled ume (umeboshi), salted salmon, katsuobushi, kombu, tarako, or any other salty or sour ingredient as a natural preservative. Because of the popularity of onigiri in Japan, most convenience stores stock their onigiri with various fillings and flavors. There are even specialized shops which only sell onigiri to take out.

 Source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Onigiri_at_a_convenience_store_by_typester_in_Kamakura.jpg

At glance, onigiri seems like ketupat which popular in Indonesia during Islamic tradition lebaran (Eid ul-Fitr). The differential between onigiri and ketupat is the method of cooking, packing, and preserving. Onigiri often wrapped in nori (seaweed) and ketupat wrapped with coconut leaves.

Drink

As far as I know, typical beverage from Japan is Sake. Sake is an alcoholic beverage of Japanese origin that is made from fermented rice. I wouldn't to discuss that the inappropriate one, and i would like to discuss the healthy one instead.
Japanese green tea also known as ocha. Ocha contains a variety of enzymes, amino acids, carbohydrates, lipids, sterols, related compounds, phytochemicals, and dietary minerals.

Source : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sencha.jpg

Types of tea are commonly graded depending on the quality and the parts of the plant used as well as how they are processed. The first and second flushes of green tea made from leaves that are exposed directly to sunlight. This is the most common green tea in Japan.
The picture below could explain the process of steaming time and tea characteristics

That's all from me, keep live healthy for a better life.
